The Topic Finder tool is available in most Gale databases that the library subscribes to. You can view a list of all databases which have the Topic Finder by going to the library's A-Z Database Tool. At the top of the page, there is a series of drop-downs. Click or tap on "All Database Types" and select "Topic Finder" to view these databases.
One of the most frequently used databases which is equipped with the Topic Finder is Academic OneFile. To access Academic OneFile, go to library.jccc.edu and click or tap the Databases tab, then click or tap on "General" in the Database Subjects box and scroll down to Academic OneFile. The link to the Topic Finder tool appears on the bottom left of the screen, next to the pie chart graphic.
You can also access the Topic Finder by clicking on "Advanced Search" within any of the Gale databases which feature the tool. Once in the Topic Finder, type in your topic, and the tiles that form will show you the most frequently used terms and subtopics associated with your topic. Larger tiles have more article results. When you click or tap a tile, a list of available full-text articles will populate on the right-hand side of the screen.
