All students enrolled in credit courses receive a printing quota each semester.  This is managed through a system called PaperCut. Students can print from campus computers or from their personal devices. Campus computers are connected directly to the printers; follow the usual steps you would take to print your file. When you send in your print job, a pop-up box will appear on your screen which displays the number of pages to be printed and the amount of printing credit which will be used to complete the job. Click OK to proceed with printing.

To print with a personal device, such as a laptop or mobile device, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are connected to the JCCC WiFi (not JCCC-Guest). You will not be able to print while connected to the guest WiFi.

  2. Navigate to the PaperCut website and log in using your JCCC email and password (same as Canvas).

  3. Select "Web Print" from the left-hand menu.

  4. Click or tap on the green button labeled "Submit a Job" and select the appropriate printer for your current location.

  5. Click or tap on "Print Options and Account Selection." The button appears at the bottom of the page. This page verifies the number of copies you wish to print. If printing one copy, proceed to the next step. If you need multiple copies of the same file, input the number of copies desired.

  6. Click or tap on "Upload Documents," then click or tap on "Upload from computer" to select your file(s). Note the list of accepted file types which appears under this button.

  7. Once you've uploaded your file(s), click or tap on "Upload & Complete." Your file(s) will be sent to the printer you selected.

If a file fails to print as expected, first check that the name of the printer matches the name of the printer you selected when uploading the job.

Another common issue is insufficient funds in your printing account to complete the job. You can check your available balance on the landing page for PaperCut.  10 cents equals 1 page in black and white; color pages are 20 cents each.  You can add printing funds to your PaperCut account using a pre-paid print card or by moving money to your Paper Cut account from your JCCC ID card or your personal credit card.  For help in doing this, please see the Print Costs, Payments and Refunds page on the JCCC website, or speak with someone in the library or one of the computer labs.
